1. Who we are

Upnami is operated by Upnami. If you have any question about your data, contact us at hello@upnami.com.

Upnami uses YouTube API Services. When you use Upnami, data obtained through YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: your email address and password (your password is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we cannot see it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture only. Google sign-in does not give us access to your YouTube account or any other Google data.
  • Channels and content you provide: the channel links you add, the competitor channels you track, your channel settings (such as positioning, audience, example titles, and the standard text you save for video descriptions), the topics you save and edit, the thumbnails you generate and the images you upload, and your language and theme preferences.
  • Data from YouTube API Services: public information about channels and videos, such as titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view, like and comment counts, publish dates and durations. We retrieve it with our own API key. We do not access private YouTube data or your YouTube account.
  • Usage and billing records: your credit balance and history, which features you used, and your subscription status. From Paddle we receive purchase details such as plan, amount, status and order IDs. We never receive or store your full card details.
  • Support requests: when you contact us on the Contact page, the email address you give, the topic, subject and message, any images you attach, and our replies. To limit spam we store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic device information, used for security, to prevent abuse (for example, to make sure each YouTube channel receives free credits only once and to block disposable email addresses) and to fix errors.

3. How we use data

  • To provide Upnami: show your channels' and competitors' video statistics, calculate our own metrics (marked as calculated by Upnami), and generate topic ideas and thumbnails.
  • To run your account, credits and subscription, and to process refunds.
  • To keep Upnami secure and prevent abuse.
  • To answer your support requests and email you our replies.
  • To send service emails, such as email verification and password resets. We do not send marketing emails.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

4. How we use and share YouTube data

We use public YouTube data to show you statistics, to calculate our own metrics, and as input for generated topic ideas and thumbnails. To generate text, we send the relevant data (for example, video titles and statistics, and your channel settings) to Anthropic, which processes it for us. To generate thumbnails, we send your channel's own YouTube thumbnails and video titles, and the video's view count when you improve the thumbnail of a published video, to OpenAI, which processes them for us. YouTube data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days of being retrieved, and we do not keep it in long-term records.

5. Service providers we share data with

We use these service providers to run Upnami. They process data on our behalf for the purposes below.

6. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the countries listed above. We rely on our providers' safeguards for these transfers.

7. How long we keep data

  • Account data and content you provide: until you delete your account.
  • Data from YouTube API Services: refreshed or deleted within 30 days.
  • Our own error logs and payment notification records: 90 days. System logs kept by our hosting providers (Vercel and Supabase) follow those providers' own retention periods.
  • Support requests and attached images: if you have an account, until you delete it (requests you sent while signed out with the same email are deleted at the same time); if you contacted us without an account, until 1 year after the request is closed.
  • Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Paddle also keeps transaction records as the Merchant of Record.
  • After you delete your account, we keep the following, no longer linked to your email or account: the YouTube channel IDs you added, so that each channel can receive free credits only once; records of channels that used a first-month discount, and refund records (amount, currency, Paddle transaction and refund IDs, and the channel at the time), to prevent refund abuse and for accounting; and, for 90 days, payment notification records and your Paddle customer and subscription IDs, so that late notifications from Paddle are ignored.
  • Backups: deleted data is removed from our backups within 7 days.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data is deleted from our database and file storage immediately, and from backups within 7 days.
  • To ask for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, email hello@upnami.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you ask us to delete data obtained through YouTube API Services, we will delete it within 7 days.
  • If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Upnami's access from your Google Account security settings: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions
  • Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and local storage

We only use what Upnami needs to work. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

  • Sign-in cookies from our authentication provider, to keep you signed in.
  • ui_locale (kept for 1 year): your interface language.
  • ui_theme (kept for 1 year): light or dark appearance.
  • cu_channel (kept for 1 year): the channel you selected last.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on sign-up and sign-in pages and on the Contact page.
  • Paddle.js: loaded when you open checkout, to process your payment.

10. Age

Upnami is meant only for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will tell you by email or on the website before they take effect.
